Minimum Qualifications Summary

Certification & Education

  • Must possess a current US Passport with the ability to travel and work overseas.
  • Must meet COMSEC briefing and Local Element management certification requirements available under the OPNAVINST 2201.4, DoD Instruction 8523.01, and Air Force Manual 17-1301.
  • Must possess a SECRET Security Clearance.

Experience Required

  • Five years of military experience.
  • Strong writing, analytical, management, and reading skills, as well as effective communication abilities.
  • Preferred: prior experience and operational knowledge of safety management assistance and Occupational Health Management administration for the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • Preferred: prior experience providing safety training and awareness.

Job Objective

Under a five-year contract, the Occupational Health Manager will support the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT), and subordinate commands. The scope includes providing professional services at MARCENT located aboard MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), Florida, supporting the 5th MEB (also known as TF 51/5) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The 5th MEB conducts tactical command and control of Marine Corps forces within CENTCOM's AOR, supporting contingencies, exercises, and Naval Integration actions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety management assistance by monitoring the overall Occupational Health Management program for the Commanding General, 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
  • Offer guidance on Safety and Occupational Health issues throughout the command.
  • Conduct safety inspections and surveys.
  • Maintain files, verify safety and facilities requirements.
  • Ensure completion of administrative tasks according to safety and occupational health regulations, including report generation and distribution.
  • Provide safety training and awareness programs.
  • Offer technical assistance and advice on safety and hazards, including report preparation and management recommendations.
  • Receive guidance from the MARCENT Safety Manager in Tampa.

Education & Certification

  • Must possess a current US Passport with the ability to travel and work overseas.

Security Clearance

  • Must possess a SECRET Security Clearance.

Work Location

  • 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Task Force 51/5; Naval Support Activity Bahrain; Manama, Bahrain.
  • Travel: Support projected travel to various countries in support of government requirements, including Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, France, Germany, UK, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Djibouti, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Greece. Must be available for travel with less than 24 hours' notice, capable of executing OCONUS travel throughout the CENTCOM AOR.
