Role Overview:
The position involves inpatient care, including patient rounding, management of labors, management of antepartum triage and treatment, and responding to ER consults related to OB/GYN issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient rounding
- Management of labors
- Management of antepartum triage and treatment
- Responding to ER consults concerning OB/GYN issues
Required Procedures:
- Labors and deliveries
- C-sections
- Management of maternal hypertension and hemorrhage
- ER consults
- D&C, ablations, hysterectomy
- Gynecologic surgeries based on urgency
Support and Systems:
- Utilizes Epic EMR
- Supported by RNs in labor and delivery
Requirements:
- Board Certified
- Active Kentucky License
- ACLS and DEA certifications required
- Clean malpractice record preferred
Administrative and Credentialing Information:
- Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days
- Not providing services in lieu of an existing provider for a period of 60 days or less
Additional Notes:
- Estimated deliveries are about 30 per month
- Provider to be on first call
- Facility does not have midwives
- Admissions vary as it is a rural hospital
