UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting for an OB/GYN Physician to join our team in Waterloo, IA.

About our opportunity:

  • Physician will join a team of 6 OB/GYN Physicians, 7 Certified Nurse Midwives and 1 Nurse Practitioner
  • Call ratio 1:6 with a goal of obtaining 1:7
  • Laborist/Doc-of-the-day care model
  • 4-day work week when not on weekend call
  • Strong work-life balance with ability to take call from home.
  • 24-hour weekday call and 72-hour weekend call shifts
  • High volume of minimally invasive surgeries among the group, including robotics and vNotes
  • Nurse Triage service is first line for all patient calls outside business hours and covers routine obstetrical and gynecological questions.
  • Experienced, trustworthy labor and delivery staff with low turnover
  • Newly expanded and state of the art (LDRP) suites- 24 beds
  • Total practice deliveries average 1000 yearly
  • Level 2 NICU
  • 24/7 access to highly collegial MFM consult with direct phone call.
  • Two clinic locations with one located on the hospital campus.
  • Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination.
Responsibilities
  • Monday - Thursday 4-day work week unless on call for weekend (Friday - Sunday)
  • Average 18-26 clinic patients per day
  • In office ultrasound offered at both clinic locations and read by the General Radiology department
  • Surgical block time offered at Allen Hospital Main OR and local Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • 2 Da Vinci Xi Robotic surgical systems available at Allen Hospital
  • Physician average of 55% OB care and 45% GYN care
  • Physicians provide supervision to our collegial midwife group that manages their own low risk practice
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible OBGYN
  • Hold or obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
  • Immigration assistance- Accepts J-1 and H1B visa
