Rural Health Group, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center in northeastern North Carolina, is seeking a Board Certified (or Board Eligible) OB/GYN to provide women's health care in Roanoke Rapids.

We serve people of all insurance statuses: Medicare, NC Medicaid, NC Health Choice, private insurance, and the uninsured.

We seek providers committed to a rural practice with the desire to establish roots in the community.

RHG is centrally located on I-95, 80 miles north of Raleigh and the Research Triangle as well as 80 miles south of Richmond. Residents enjoy moderate year-round climate with lots of sunshine. The Roanoke Valley, a community of over 56,000 located just south of the Virginia border, is an outdoor paradise with hiking, hunting, fishing, mountain biking and boating.

KEY DETAILS:

  • Role: Outpatient clinic duties, surgical procedures, and hospital call responsibilities.
  • Location: Women's Health clinic adjacent to ECU Health North Hospital.
    • Rural Health Group is a separate organization from the hospital - our OB/GYNs have privileges and call there, but it is not a hospital practice.
  • Schedule: One day in surgery, four hours for administration, and approximately 20 outpatient patients daily.
  • Patient Mix: Varies; averages 25-30 deliveries monthly with designated GYN care days.
    • This is a rural, underserved community so there are a number of high risk patients for both OB and GYN.
  • Call Schedule: Approximately1:2 on weekdays (8am Mon - 5pm Fri) and 1:4 on weekends (5pm Fri - 8am Mon).
  • Requirements: Board certification (or board-eligible if resident) and BLS certification; NRP needed for hospital privileges.
  • Technology: Rural Health Group, Inc. uses eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR; ECU Health North Hospital uses EPIC (experience with one or both is a plus, but not required).
    • We do not have DaVinci

Compensation Model:

    • W2 preferred; 1099 model considered case-by-case.
    • Base Salary: The starting salary is negotiable, with a minimum base of $350,000, which can be increased based on experience and qualifications.

    • Signing Bonus: $40,000-$60,000.
    • Up to $2,500/month can be taken from the signing bonus early and applied as a residency stipend.
    • Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 in-state and up to $10,000 out-of-state.
