Position Title: Nursing Aide
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Clinical Nurse Manager or designee
POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision and/or direction of a Nursing Supervisor and/or Staff RN, performs various duties in the treatment and care of patients, in accordance with established policies and procedures of the hospital.
Starting Wage: $17.48 (not certified - NA); $18.90 (currently certified - CNA)
The posted wage is in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreement and is the current starting or new graduate wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position, which may warrant a higher wage in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors consistent with the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Licensure:- Current healthcare BLS certification
- Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.
Education:- High school graduate or general education degree (GED).
Skills/Experience:- At least one (1) month related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- If a current nursing student, completion of at least one (1) semester of clinical fundamentals in a RN or LPN degree program.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Familiarity with standard hospital procedures.
- Ability to safely and effectively manage patients' mobility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Skills/Experience:- At least six (6) months of paid nursing experience in acute care, long term care, or home health care setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
