We are hiring General Managers with multiple horticulture/specialty agriculture industry nursery, greenhouse and CEA growers based in Florida, Ohio, Washington, Alabama, British Columbia, and Texas. These positions will report directly to the President of the parent companies and eventually have significant autonomy in running the business. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Leadership & Sales Management:
Develop and implement a strategic vision aligned with market trends and customer demands.
Provide effective leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence throughout the organization.
Oversee the sales team, establishing and maintaining relationships with large retailers.
Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for business expansion.
- Operational Excellence:
Manage day-to-day growing and distribution operations, optimizing production efficiency and ensuring high-quality standards
Collaborate with production team to plan and execute cultivation strategies
Oversee procurement and inventory management: materials to be used for planting, seasonal ordering, etc.
- Financial Management:
Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met and profitability is maintained.
Implement cost-effective measures to maximize operational efficiency.
- Team Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor personnel, fostering a high-performance culture.
Encourage professional growth and development of team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing and positively motivating direct reports.
Industry knowledge of specific operational characteristics and culture within the horticulture, greenhouse, nursery, CEA and or landscape wholesale sectors is REQUIRED to be considered.
Exceptional organization, time-management, project management and administrative skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent leadership skills, ability to work with multiple teams and on numerous projects, and the ability to influence both small (3-7 leaders) and large (entire company) groups for best results.
Previous Nursery and/or greenhouse GM experience preferred
