Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Internal Medicine

Schedule: Monday-Friday 12-hour shifts 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, including weekends
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hospital Medicine team. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient setting, managing both acute and chronic medical conditions, and ensuring seamless care coordination from admission through discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical management for hospitalized patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, including prescribing medications and ordering therapies.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Manage symptoms and complications related to both conditions and treatments.
- Facilitate discussions around goals of care and end-of-life planning when appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with referring providers and care teams.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the medical record.
Qualifications:
For Nurse Practitioners:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Active RN and APRN license in Georgia.
- National board certification (ANCC or AANP).
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
- DEA license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Specialty certification as applicable to the role.
- Hospital Medicine experience required; oncology experience preferred.
For Physician Assistants:
- Graduate of an accredited PA program with a Master's degree or higher.
- Active PA license in Georgia.
- National board certification by NCCPA.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
- DEA license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Hospital Medicine experience required; oncology experience preferred.
