Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse - Concierge Cardiology/Internal Medicine Practice
The Lown Medical Group is a concierge out-patient, private practice affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital. We are a practice providing patient-centered, internal medicine and noninvasive cardiovascular care emphasizing prevention, compassion, and trust between doctor and patient. Our practice focus includes internal medicine, non-invasive general cardiology, women's cardiology, sports cardiology, second opinions and cardiovascular testing.

Summary:
The Lown Medical Group is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing concierge Internal Medicine and Cardiology practice. Under supervision of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and in collaboration with other team members, provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation standards and Lown philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Lead: Provide leadership to the Medical Assistant (MA) staff, including onboarding, training, and partnering with the practice manager to conduct ongoing performance evaluations. Foster a positive work culture, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Best Practices Development: Develop, implement, and maintain "Best Practices" for nursing/ MA staff to ensure high-quality patient care, efficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Scheduling Management: Create and manage MA staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for vacations and unexpected absences to maintain seamless operations.
- Supply & Inventory Oversight: Oversee ordering, stocking, and organization of medical supplies, ensuring inventory levels are well-maintained to support efficient clinical operations.
- Documentation & Compliance: Monitor nursing and MA documentation processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
- Operational Coordination: Serve as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams, ensuring smooth daily operations and swift resolution of any patient care or workflow issues.
- Customer Service Excellence: Foster a culture of excellence in patient interactions, ensuring that all engagements align with our patient-first concierge care philosophy.
Principle Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
Interviews patient about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical record for pertinent previous and current information.
Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician).
Establishes and documents patient treatment regimen under supervision of MD and implements treatment.
Performs routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and visual acuity testing, and administers and reads TB tests.
Performs phlebotomy.
Placement of IVs to include monitoring IV lines and correcting inefficiencies or obstructions.
Maintains adequate inventory of examination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginning and end of day and between each patient contact.
Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient referrals.
Monitor and maintains updated vaccine inventory.
Participates in the orientation and training of new personnel.
Demonstrates expert clinical judgment skills to function in an independent role.
Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the practice.
Non-Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates professional collaborative and consultative relationships with other providers.
Help practice design methods of capturing and tracking of primary care health indicators.
Follows all designated prescriptive practices and monitoring requirements with the designated supervising physician.
Participates in practice initiatives as appropriate and attends all required meetings and professional trainings.
Maintains superior interpersonal and communication skills as a member of the healthcare team to collaborate effectively with patients, families, staff, and referring healthcare professionals.
Remains actively involved in continuing education with a commitment to self and departmental growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid RN or LPN license in the state of Massachusetts.
Completions of an accredited RN or LPN program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Compassionate and patient centered approach to care.

Must be proficient with computer systems as needed to independently perform daily tasks (EMR, Epic preferred)
Must maintain the highest degree of professional judgment under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician.
