Summary: A Nurse Coordinator oversees and coordinates patient care activities within a healthcare facility. This role involves developing and maintaining care plans, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care. The nurse coordinator also monitors patient progress, manages patient flow, and addresses any issues that arise. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential for this position to ensure efficient and effective healthcare delivery. Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required. Overseeing Nursing Activities: Manage and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure efficient patient care Developing Care Plans: Create and maintain individualized care plans for patients based on their specific needs Ensuring Compliance: Ensure that nursing practices comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies Monitoring Patient Progress: Regularly assess and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary Collaborating with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care Managing Schedules: Organize and manage nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage Providing Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. Qualifications: Education/Experience: A valid unencumbered RN/LPN license from an accredited institution. 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, often in a supervisory or leadership role Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Additional certifications in nursing management or a related specialty can be beneficial Passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-LPN, NCLEX-RN)
