Overview:
Nuclear Specialists, Inc. is hiring a Nuclear Technician (Mobile) to operate our MaiCam 180 mobile cardiac imaging system throughout the Central Florida region. This full-time field-based role involves transporting and operating a SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) gamma camera and handling radiopharmaceuticals such as technetium and thallium.
Technicians will travel within a 2-hour radius of Leesburg, FL, delivering in-office nuclear imaging to clinics and medical providers. You'll follow strict radiation safety protocols, interact with patients and medical staff, and work independently in a mobile diagnostic environment.
We're looking for candidates with experience in nuclear medicine, military-equivalent imaging roles, or field service work involving radiation or diagnostic equipment. Must be able to manage heavy imaging systems (1,200-1,400 lbs via van lift) and be eligible to pursue Florida licensure upon offer.
What You'll Do:
- Transport, set up, and operate mobile gamma camera systems (1,200-1,400 lbs using a lift system)
- Operate the MaiCam 180 SPECT gamma camera, a van-based nuclear cardiac imaging system using radioactive tracers (technetium, thallium). Safely load/unload using vehicle lift and follow all radiation safety protocols.
- Deliver diagnostic imaging services across multiple patient locations
- Ensure safe operation, setup, and breakdown of equipment
- Maintain records and work independently in the field
- Represent the company professionally with patients and partners
Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday-Friday, 36-40 hours/week (8-12-hour days; paid regardless of daily workload)
- $75,000-$90,000/year + spot bonuses (based on number of patients served)
- Health care and retirement plan offered (or higher base pay if benefits are declined)
Ideal Candidate:
- U.S. Military Veteran (e.g., Navy Nuke, Corpsman, Biomedical Tech)
- 2-year degree (civilian or military equivalent)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Physically capable of operating heavy mobile imaging equipment
- Local to Leesburg or willing to relocate (must be eligible for FL licensure upon hire)
