Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Mechanical Planner III position will develop and manage work instructions for mechanical maintenance and modifications, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. Responsibilities include procurement recommendations, work package execution, field walkdowns, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams. The role also involves reviewing maintenance procedures, managing system planners or contractors, and participating in scheduling and troubleshooting meetings. This Full time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $53.55 - $79.65

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare work instructions for mechanical and contract maintenance projects and modifications
  • Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for materials needed for work package execution
  • Conduct field walkdowns to analyze maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities and improve work package quality
  • Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues
  • Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required for planned work packages
  • Facilitate package preparation by submitting necessary documentation, including OOS's, RWP's, impairments, welding/grinding permits, and regulatory/code compliance documents
  • Verify work instructions to ensure compliance with station procedures, NSP's, NSWP's, ASME Code, and other standards
  • Approve and review work packages for safety, quality, technical rigor, and regulatory screening
  • Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development and maintain compliance
  • Manage system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of package preparation
  • Participate in scheduling meetings, contract reviews, troubleshooting sessions, risk assessments, peer reviews, and system interaction discussions to support station processes

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical area (ie maintenance, engineering, operations, Maintenance Planning).
  • OR An associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 8 years of experience in a technical area (ie maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
  • OR A high school diploma or GED and technical training or education similar to that acquired through an in-grade apprenticeship program for maintenance related work and 6 years of experience in a technical area (ie maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
  • OR A high school diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in a technical area (ie maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning). Educational experience from an accredited college or university will be considered year for year in exchange for work experience in a technical area.
  • 2 years of experience in a nuclear environment is highly desired but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Capability to obtain Planner I qualification
  • Working knowledge of nuclear power plant work management and planning processes
  • Understanding of safety regulations in a power plant environment
  • Familiarity with ALARA requirements
  • Knowledge of nuclear security operations, regulations, and requirements
  • Time management and prioritization skills to enhance plant and equipment reliability
  • Ability to meet short- and long-term commitments to internal and external customers
  • Skilled at building and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Strong business acumen and decision-making skills
  • Ability to set and achieve clear, measurable goals using performance metrics
  • Expertise in technical report writing and trend analysis
  • Capability to improve processes and develop more efficient business practices
