Nuclear Stress Testing Program Medical Director Qualifications: North Carolina Medical License and CaroMont Regional Medical Center Medical Staff membership in good standing. Specialty specific Board certification, employed by CaroMont Medical Group, and actively caring for patients. Prior formal leadership position(s) preferred. Requirements: The Medical Director must meet at least one of the following criteria: 1. Board certified (or Board eligible but within two years of finishing training) in Cardiology and completion of a minimum of a four-month formal training program in nuclear cardiology Level 2 as outlined in the ACC/ASNC/COCATS Training Guidelines (2006 revision) . This requirement applies only to cardiologists who began their cardiology training in July 1995 or later. 2. Board certified in cardiology and training equivalent to Level 2 training or at least one year (full-time equivalent) of nuclear cardiology practice experience with independent interpretation of at least 800 nuclear cardiology studies. This requirement applies only to cardiologists who began their cardiology training before July 1995. 3. Certification in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). 4. Board certified (or Board eligible but within two years of finishing training) in nuclear medicine. Additional Requirements: Proven ability to build cohesiveness, influence others, and successfully execute planned goals and objectives. Demonstrated competence in change management, while utilizing creativity, skill, and knowledge to inspire excellence. Leadership skills in planning, execution, evaluation, and improvement cycle. Effective negotiating, coaching, and conceptual thinking skills. Superb physician and administrative relation skills and proven ability to engage physicians and administrators by providing valuable insight and logical information. Analytical skills necessary to interpret quantitative and qualitative data relevant to the market, organization, and service line. Ability to clearly direct and motivate individuals while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Possesses strategic agility as demonstrated by the ability to recognize and capitalize on innovative, valuable, and achievable product line offerings aligned with the CaroMont Health Vision. Contributes to the achievement and maintenance of an efficient service line delivery model as defined by accepted internal and external benchmarks. Ability to work effectively with groups and organizations as a leader or a team player. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to produce analysis of complex issues, including financial data. Clinical Duties and Responsibilities: Stress Testing Oversee performance of exercise and pharmacologic stress tests. Ensure accurate monitoring and interpretation of stress test results. Collaborate with the stress team to ensure safe testing and good patient experience. Nuclear Stress Testing Supervise nuclear stress tests, including the administration of radionuclides. Interpret nuclear imaging results to assess myocardial perfusion and identify areas of ischemia. Collaborate with nuclear medicine technologists to ensure precise imaging and patient safety. Administrative Duties and Responsibilities: Leadership and Management Lead and mentor a team of cardiologists, nurses, technicians, and support staff. Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines for stress testing and nuclear stress testing. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation regulations. Quality Assurance Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided in the lab. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical practices and procedures. Education and Training Provide ongoing education and training to staff on the latest advancements in stress testing and nuclear cardiology. Organize and lead continuing education sessions/meetings. Stay updated with current research and integrate new knowledge into clinical practice. Risk Management Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with stress testing procedures. Develop emergency protocols and ensure staff readiness to handle emergencies.
