Nonprofit Development Associate (Contract)
You are a Development Associate with 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising
This position pays: $28 to $30 per hour
Location: Oakland, CA
What You Will Be Doing:
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events such as donor receptions, galas, and community outreach activities.
- Work closely with vendors, volunteers, and staff to ensure smooth event logistics from invitations to post-event follow-ups.
Donor Management & Data Entry:
- Maintain and update donor information in DonorPerfect and Salesforce, ensuring accurate records for donor communications, contributions, and interactions.
- Track donations and pledges, preparing detailed reports for donor stewardship and cultivation.
Grants Management:
- Assist in identifying grant opportunities, maintaining application deadlines, and preparing proposals.
- Track grant reporting and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
Communications & Social Media:
- Support content creation for newsletters, appeals, and social media platforms.
- Manage and monitor social media accounts to increase visibility and engagement.
- Coordinate with the communications team to promote events and campaigns.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining files.
- Assist with donor recognition efforts, sending thank-you notes, tax receipts, and creating donor recognition materials.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or related experience.
- 2-3 years of nonprofit development or fundraising experience.
- Strong background in event planning and donor management.
- Proven experience using donor management software such as DonorPerfect and Salesforce.
- Familiarity with website software (WordPress) and communications platforms (Constant Contact).
- Experience with accounting software like Yardi is a plus.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and content creation (Hootsuite, Buffer).
