Job Title: Claims Representative

Location: Columbia, SC 29229

Duration: 6-Months Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $15.00 an hour on W2

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control audits, reviews, and monitoring of departmental operations, including claims, membership, customer service, workflow, and processing support systems.
  • Identify problems, analyze root causes, and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform routine quality audits to ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Recognize and document potential fraud and abuse situations.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance to new hires upon completion of initial training.
  • Offer feedback and coaching to operations and training teams on assessed errors to facilitate additional training as needed.
  • Compile data and generate reports on quality performance for operational teams.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to training materials, systems, or procedures.
  • Document findings and prepare recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Assist with training documentation and the development of new processes and procedures.
  • Stay updated on guidelines, work instructions, and industry standards.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong analytical, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in basic business math.
  • Ability to document and resolve problems effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
Software & Tools:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:
  • Typical office setting.
Education & Experience:
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in claims processing, customer service, auditing, training, analysis, or operations.
  • Preferred: Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
