Position Title: NOC System Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive
NOC System Infrastructure Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. As an NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate closely with the rest of our IT team to support the infrastructure, optimize performance, and resolve issues to meet the service-level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities: - Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor and manage the health and performance of the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other critical devices.
- Use monitoring tools to identify and address issues related to network performance, downtime, and outages.
- Respond promptly to IT infrastructure alerts, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions to resolve problems.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Perform root cause analysis of network-related incidents, working with team members to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Work with internal teams to escalate unresolved issues, ensuring that problems are addressed in a timely manner.
- System and Network Configuration:
- Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, UPS, and other IT infrastructure devices.
- Assist with system configuration for new infrastructure components, ensuring that new installations meet organizational standards.
- Deployment and on-site troubleshooting of equipment at various local locations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of network incidents, configurations, and changes for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and lessons learned to improve future network incident response.
- Maintain customers IT infrastructure inventory devices
- Performance Optimization:
- Proactively monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend performance enhancements or capacity upgrades.
- Ensure the scalability of the network to meet increasing demand or to accommodate new technologies and devices.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate network status and incidents to internal stakeholders, providing status updates and recommended actions.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that infrastructure changes and upgrades are properly coordinated.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary responder for on-site customer support.
- Efficiently rack and stack IT equipment as needed.
- Provide on-site assistance and technical support at customer locations.
- Participate in on-call shifts to ensure continuous support availability.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience working in a NOC, System Engineering, or Network Administration role.
- A valid and current CCNA Certification is required.
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, EIGRP, OSPF, etc.), security principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with Wireless Systems and protocols.
- Experience with configuration networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager and/or Unity.
- Knowledge of virtualization systems (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Understanding of basic networking security and VPN technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Needs to have transportation and a valid driver license.
