Job Summary: The 1st shift NOC/SOC Technician 2 main responsibility is to monitor various systems and application notifications received via email or dashboard alerts. Notifications received via email or dashboard alerts include, but are not limited to, application aborts, network infrastructure alerts, and security alerts. The 1st shift NOC/SOC Technician 2 is our level 1 triage tech and attempts to remediate the alerts as received. If unable to resolve an issue they will route the event to a SME following an established escalation list.
Hybrid Schedule: Mon-Tues remote, Weds-Fri in office
Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm
Saturday work rotation - work every third Saturday (from home)
Key Responsibilities: - Monitor application batch jobs for aborts.
- Working knowledge of basic Network troubleshooting skills. Ping, tracert, nslookup.
- Working knowledge of basic Infrastructure troubleshooting skills. Server resets, user and password resets.
- Monitor Infrastructure and Security dashboards for any issues.
- Engage in Tier 1 remediation efforts for NOC/SOC alerts and notifications.
- Follow SME Escalation policies for issues that are unable to be remediated.
- Monitor e-mail messages and respond appropriately to requests.
- Monitor Service Now ticketing system and respond/dispatch as required.
- Transmit files to our print vendor.
- Monitor backup reports and rerun any failed backups.
- Setup UNIX accounts for users to allow system access.
- Restore accounts per request to our Dev or UAT servers.
- Adheres to defined Change Management controls and procedures.
- Manage phone calls from internal users and external customers.
- Ensure Compliance with all Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Collaborate with all members of ITO when necessary.
- May be required to work 2nd or 3rd shift to cover staff PTO.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience in using the "vi" editor.
- Create and schedule Veeam backup policies for the HPUX Servers.
- Motivated, self-starter with strong desire to enhance skill sets.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned by manager.
Education and Experience: - Minimum 2-year associate degree in IT related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication necessary.
- Must be proficient with Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with Windows Servers and VMware a plus.
- Experience with Unix/Linux a plus.
- Experience in using infrastructure monitoring tools is desirable.
- Experience in using Azure Sentinel and Dynatrace desirable.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to participate in a weekend work rotation.
