We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to focus for long periods of time. You will be required to perform daily line audits to proactively help correct defects and look for root cause corrective actions, inspect and test manufactured goods and determine if they are safe to use and meet/exceed acceptable tolerances. You will need to feel comfortable communicating with team members and support the team to ensure continuous production at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: The Quality Assurance Technician will perform quality inspections and testing to ensure compliance with all applicable standards. You will also work with production personnel to create and maintain continuous improvements in products and services for our customers and most importantly perform quality control checks on company products to ensure they meet required safety and quality standards. Our ideal candidate will be able to efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:• Inspect product during the extrusion process using calipers, micrometers, pi tape, weight scale
• Compare product with customer specifications
• Make decision on product status, mark type of defect
• Document information on work order
• Inspect and tag reels
• Test incoming raw material and conduit, and record dates of inspection
• Operate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job
• Drive forklift to move reels into designated area
• Maintain neat and orderly work area
• Assist in creating work instructions and supporting document control system
• Assist in driving lean manufacturing initiatives
• Follow all safety requirements
• Additional duties as required
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently (Bi-Lingual is a Plus.)
• At least 1 year of experience in quality/inspection procedures, REQUIRED
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Data Entry Skills, REQUIRED
• Ability to adhere to all Safety Measures and Procedures (SOP's, GMP's)
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues
• Forklift experience a plus
OCCUPATIONAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:• Ability to learn and use laboratory and inspection equipment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to recognize color spectrum
• Fully mobile from one manufacturing area to another
• Able to step over and/or bend under objects
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance
• Must be able to work flexible shifts as needed
• Wear required PPE at all times
