The Night Auditor is a crucial role that combines front desk duties and overnight auditing tasks. The individual in this position ensures the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk during the night shift and performs end-of-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guest Services:
  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate and timely service.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
  • Manage guest reservations, including changes and cancellations.
  • Handle guest requests such as wake-up calls, special accommodations, and transportation arrangements.
2. Night Audit Duties:
  • Conduct daily financial audits, including balancing and reconciling all accounts.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports, including revenue, occupancy, and other relevant statistics.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
  • Post room charges, taxes, and other necessary adjustments to guest accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies found during the audit process.
  • Monitor hotel security by following established protocols and reporting any suspicious activities.
3. Administrative Duties:
  • Process end-of-day procedures and ensure that all systems are updated with the correct data.
  • Prepare and organize reports for management review.
  • Maintain the front desk area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and other communications.
  • Assist with the preparation of guest folios and other administrative tasks as required.
4. Compliance and Security:
  • Adhere to all Hilton policies and procedures, including safety, security, and confidentiality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and regulations.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or emergencies to the appropriate management staff.
  • Monitor the hotel premises during the night shift to ensure guest safety and security.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hotel front desk or night audit position is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using hotel management software and other computer systems.
    • Basic accounting knowledge and numerical aptitude.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 25 lbs.), and work overnight shifts.
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires overnight shifts, typically from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • The work environment is typically in a hotel front desk setting, with regular interaction with guests and other staff members.
