SUMMARY The Next Steps Coordinator works under the leadership and vision of the Equipping Pastor to help people take their Next Step from Neighbor to Multiplier. This role assists in executing the connection, membership, and discipleship pathways and provides people with the support, information, and encouragement they need for their spiritual journey.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of First Naples.
- Assists the Executive Pastor to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.
- Basic personal responsibilities:
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and meditation.
- Lead yourself and your home towards Honesty, Honor, Humility, Hunger, the Holy Spirit, and Health (Emotional, Spiritual, Financially, and Physically).
- Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
- Faithfully support the ministries of First Naples by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.
- Maintain active participation in an adult-group.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of First Naples (Colossians 3:23-24).
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to the following: Communication - Assist in the execution of church-wide connection, membership, + discipleship pathways.
- Connect with NEW guests and those who indicate Decisions via the appropriate follow-up procedure.
- Utilize church database (ROCK) to track and manage information effectively to help people continue to progress through First Naples pathways.
- Assist with Discover First events as assigned and follow-up with attendees to help with completion of Membership Pathway or Next Steps.
Baptism - Coordinate with leadership to engage individuals who express interest in baptism, membership, or faith decisions.
- Guide individuals through the baptism process: filling out of Baptism Request Form, Baptism conversation to confirm salvation and answer any questions or concerns.
- Work with administrative assistant to schedule and organize baptism logistics.
- Help with coordination + execution of Beach Baptism and other baptism events.
- Refer children, students, college, and young professionals interested in baptism to
- their respective ministry leaders to guide through the baptism process.
Discipleship Pathway - Connect with NEW and Returning guests who have yet to attend Discover First (DF) and encourage attendance to the next available class.
- Follow-up with DF attendees who marked interest in Membership to help with completion of Membership Pathway.
- Review and process Membership Applications to ensure testimonies align with church expectations.
- Schedule and conduct membership interviews as needed.
- Work with the Equipping + Connecting Pastor to integrate new members into the discipleship pathway.
- Assist with alignment of the Discipleship Pathway across all church ministries.
- Assist with connecting new members into areas of service and gospel community.
On-going Engagement - Monitor and manage guest status using the Step Status Report.
- Utilize information from the Step Status Report to regularly invite guests and members to participate in the Next Step on the Discipleship Pathway.
- Be available during work hours for in-person conversations with guests or walk-ins.
- Other duties as assigned by the Equipping + Connecting Pastor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of ministry experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a diverse group of people, communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, e-mail, and in person, and demonstrate tact and diplomacy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a heart for helping people take their Next Step in their spiritual journey.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS The individual must have demonstrated skill in the use of PC systems to complete tasks, including word processing and spreadsheets, and the ability to use the internet for information retrieval. Proficiency in database management and guest tracking systems.
REASONING ABILITY Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and diverse groups. A willingness to follow Next Step procedures with an ability to improve and streamline processes when applicable. Commitment to Christian principles and active personal faith journey.

- Requires flexibility, including evening and weekend availability for events.
- Regular interaction and communication with guests, staff, and volunteers.
- The employee must be able to use their hands and arms to reach and be able to carry twenty-five pounds as needed for event setups.
