The NextGen Strategic Development Director's goal is to be a strategic partner with our birth to 18 ministry leads to co- create, drive, and execute strategic goals. This role will partner with the Student's Pastor, Children's Pastor, and Preschool Director and be part of their team engaging the NextGen's heart for Christ. The goal of the team overall is to build faith so that it endures in college and into adulthood. This role will intentionally look at the St. Andrew brand and churchwide strategy and drive cross-divisional alignment with all the birth to 18 divisions to innovate and drive new programs for the future.
Essential Functions
- Champions the St. Andrew mission and values across the NextGen ministry seeking opportunities to drive alignment across age divisions
- Contributes to the development of the NextGen vision and challenges new ways of thinking to accomplish goals
- Partners with Student's Pastor, Children's Pastor and Preschool Director to create age division strategies, goals and strategic timelines
- Aids in the implementation of strategic programs and systems that will improve day-to-day operations across age divisions
- Tracks progress toward shared strategic goals; identify gaps, propose solutions, and maintain momentum
- Collaborates with the marketing team to create effective communication strategies & messaging for NextGen families
- Partners with teams to execute NextGen vision and ministry strategy
- Researches trends, tools and systems and develops insights for birth to 18 to help inform the overall vision and strategy
- Partners with adult pastors to create programming and systems for parents of birth to 18 to engage with the church
- Acts as a strategic connector researching trends, championing unified messaging, and helping ministries execute a shared vision across the birth to 18 journey.
- Understands & stays current with child development stages in order to help inform the strategy to target needs of each stage.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates strategy to create a unified effort to help families find and follow Jesus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt full-time position at 36.5 hours per week. Office hours will be set but are flexible around morning/evening/weekend events or other church activities. This role will require at least two Sundays per month, 8:30-12:30pm.
Travel
Some travel is expected for trips and retreats.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Background in education / child development highly preferred
- Work experience preferred with proven track record to develop ideas and drive for results
- Ministry experience preferred
