Maximus Federal has been awarded the contract for Social Security Administration (SSA), to provide remote support with Medical Experts (MEs) for witnesses to provide testimony in hearings before and Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) which claimants are appealing denials of certain benefits administered by SSA. We would be pleased to support you through the Maximus onboarding process. SSA's objective is to obtain the services of Contractors to provide Medical Expert witnesses to provide testimony in hearings held before an ALJ at which claimants are appealing denial of certain benefits administered by SSA. This is done via phone/web meeting(s). This is great work for semi-retired providers or providers looking to take on additional work from the comfort of their home or office. Requirements:
- Physicians (MD/DO) must have at least 5 years of experience post-training in required specialty
- Non-Physicians must have at least 3 years of experience post-training in required specialty
- Provider has an clear active license in any state
- Provider must be Board Certified by the American Medical Association (AMA) and/or American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Providers must complete Maximus Federal onboarding, SSA background paperwork, and fingerprints
- Access to computer with CD-ROM drive and capability to view multi-page TIFF documents and PDF files. Computer must have the following software; Web browser, adobe acrobat reader, multi-page TIFF viewer, and Microsoft viewer and Microsoft Office Suite

The Maximus and SSA onboarding process is necessary to gain clearance to access government systems and sensitive information. The SSA onboarding process consists of the following phases.
Phase 1: Apply, verify credentials, and complete contract through Maximus.
Phase 2: Complete SSA e-QIP and fingerprinting.
Phase 3: Investigation interview.
Phase 4: Begin receiving cases.
There will be a requirement to complete the documents listed below during SSA onboarding.

Form SSA-222 - Security Awareness - Contractor / Affiliate Personnel Security Certification
