Position Summary

The North Little Rock School District (NLRSD) is seeking exceptional applications for the newly reorganized district leader support position as the Network Wraparound Services Coordinator. The role leads, coordinates, engages, and provides support and coaching to ten Network Based Wraparound Service Specialists. Each Network Wraparound Services Specialist will directly work in and support schools in either School Network (A) or (B). Wraparound services are those non-academic supports that address critical issues such as mental health and physical health needs, food insecurity, lack of stable housing, violence, incarceration of a parent, and many other challenges that can have adverse effects on a student's readiness and ability to learn. As such, the aim of this position is to ensure that children, families, and caregivers within each network receive the support services and assistance they need within 24 hours at the highest level of customer service and hospitality. The work of the coordinator will include connecting schools to non-academic supports needed to improve the overall child well-being and academic achievement of all students. This position will include planning, implementing, and monitoring Title-I Parent involvement activities, coordinating volunteer programs, and working with various smaller community networks across the city to identify, align, and connect resources and supports. The coordinator will also analyze, review, and align the current systems in place to support homeless students. Additionally, this position will serve as the district representative of School Health to improve the school nutrition environment, promote student health, and reduce child obesity. This is a district-based position devoted to connecting network schools to wraparound services and maintaining smaller community connections.

The Network Wraparound Service Coordinator's duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
•  Work with District leadership to implement the new vision for the School Network Wraparound Services Model, which illustrates the foundation for a school network support model grounded in the interconnectivity between a school, a child, their family, and the community they live in and grounded in a research-based framework like Bright Futures.
•  Works with District Leadership to perform child, school, family, and community needs assessments and creates and implements an individual Family Network Support Service Plan with monthly monitoring and reporting to District Leadership.
•  Supervises and leads the work of ten Network Wraparound Services Specialists uniquely network-based and school-based that will connect service providers, supports, and resources to children and families within 24 hours.
•  Engages families and school staff to better understand student needs, develops and manages partnerships with local service providers, and participates in and learning from each smaller community network.
•  Works with all Network Wraparound Services Specialists to support and monitor Read at Home Plans under the LEARNS Act and to support families and students with literacy initiatives.
•  Ensures that Title I requirements are fulfilled including parent notifications related to school choice and Supplemental Education Services (SES).
•  Coordinates services to ensure homeless students are identified, enrolled, and receive necessary services to succeed academically, acting as a bridge between schools, families, and community resources.
•  Coordinates in collaboration with Network Wraparound Service Specialists to create parent-friendly environments, sponsor parent involvement training, and oversee parent volunteers.
•  Coordinates in collaboration with Network Wraparound Service Specialists to create a virtual School Network wraparound service provider database encompassing smaller network community resources and supports across the city of North Little Rock.
•  Works with Network Wraparound Services Specialists to support youth mentoring programs within the assigned school network.
•  Serves as the district representative of School Health to improve the school nutrition environment, promote student health, and reduce child obesity.
•  Monitors and analyses quantitative and qualitative data points related to all wraparound services and makes adjustments to ensure all students and their families get the support they need within 24 hours.
•  Works with District leadership to train school leadership teams on establishing a School Support Team (SST) structure to identify, address, coordinate, align, and provide full wrap-around services to the identified child and their families.
•  Gather input from community leaders during the decision-making process. Collect needs and service provider data throughout the wraparound program and share with district leaders how to intervene within 24 hours.
•  Supports school administration in making data-driven program decisions based on student data,
•  Coordinates in collaboration with Network Wraparound Service Specialists to support schools with the implementation of Positive, Behavior, Interventions, and Supports (PBIS).
•  Works with the district, city, school, and smaller network communities to facilitate empowering community events.
•  Ensures that Network Wraparound Services Specialists attend local neighborhood community organizations to stay abreast of local issues that may impact a child's learning at school.
•  Stay current on the latest research and information regarding rising mental health concerns, lower levels of student engagement, reports of violence against children, rising obesity, increases in teenage pregnancy, rising levels of chronic absenteeism and dropouts, and deficits in socio-emotional skills.
•  Participates in professional development opportunities centered on the services and support provided to the whole child and their families.
•  Writes grants in collaboration with the Office of Federal and State Programs as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of School Network Support Services.
•  Determines major needs of the overall school district community.
•  Builds positive relationships and trust with principals, teaching staff, students, service providers, community leaders, and other resource coordinators

•   Bachelor's Degree Required.
•  Licensed Social Work or related degree and/or experience related to the job description is preferred.
•  3 to 5 years of experience related to the job duties and responsibilities.
•  Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, creative problem-solving, and self-motivation are necessary for success.
•  Experience in an urban school district is preferred.
