JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all network switching, server hardware, server software, and associated infrastructure as applied to base systems infrastructure; Proficiency with Windows and Cisco networking systems; Maintains network documentation; Applies continued professional development; Reviews all Data Center specific on-site vendor work; Contributes to collaborative initiatives that support District goals, student service, and professional growth; Periodically on call for network interruptions or network-related system emergencies at the discretion of the Director of Technology or designee(s). QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successful Completion of a Cisco CCNA Training Course or equivalent, with commitment to obtaining CCNA Cisco networking certification within one year of hire.
  • Successful Completion of an onsite in-person network troubleshooting practical.
  • Full Time availability must be 40 hours a week, which could include some evenings and weekends for regular maintenance tasks and upgrades.
  • Commitment to becoming a Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but is not limited to):
  • Responsible for all network server and phone system hardware and software.
  • Responsible for maintaining network security-related patching in a timely manner.
  • Responsible as a primary contact for administration of the Google Admin Panel, Intune, Azure, Mosyle, Microsoft 365, and any other management system that may be adopted.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement related to network optimization.
  • Assists in planning for Technology Department network-related purchases.
  • Assists in maintenance of content filtering administration.
  • Maintain IP telephony systems.
  • Assists in providing WAN and internet technical support.
  • Maintain District wireless network.
  • Maintain and test the District backup and data recovery processes.
  • Supports adherence to Board Policy and district operating procedures on the use of technology.
  • Create and maintain system operations documentation.
  • Monitors and performs diagnostic tests on server and network components for business continuity and problem resolution.
  • Create and maintain system change log.
  • Create and maintain server and network performance logs.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Technology or designee(s), establishes and maintains security. procedures for staff access and utilization of the data management systems.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Technology or designee(s), maintains cutting edge security systems and best practices for technical staff.
  • Assists with resolving equipment work orders, as needed.
  • Maintains regular and consistent employee attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or designee(s).
SALARY: Per AFSCME Contract
