Glenbrook High School District 225's Technology Services Department is seeking a Network Technician - Security Focus.

The Network Technician - Security Focus is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving the organization's cybersecurity posture. Reporting to the Senior Network Manager, this role focuses on threat detection, vulnerability management, and security best practices across infrastructure, client devices, and cloud environments. The Security Technician collaborates closely with the network and deployment within the Technology Services Department to implement security measures, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks.

Key resposibilitites include:
  • Responding to help desk requests and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents.
  • Applying and testing critical security patches within required timeframes.
  • Conducting vulnerability scans and security audits.
  • Maintaining email security and investigating potential threats.
  • Developing security awareness training and incident response protocols.
Minimum Requirement:
  1. Bachelor or Associate degree preferred.
  2. Technology certifications and/or coursework as appropriate.
  3. Minimum of four years experience as a computer technician on Windows and Macintosh platforms or related work experience.
  4. Knowledge of current desktop operating systems in use.
  5. Experience with network security technologies and best practices.
  6. Strong documentation and communication skills.
  7. Commitment to professional development and certification.
  8. Ability to collaborate across technical and educational teams.
