Network Technician

We are looking for a skilled Network Technician to undertake tasks of network development and maintenance. You will be responsible for designing the network in ways that optimize its performance. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and improving the network's functions. The goal is to create and sustain a well-functioning and reliable network to ensure the unobtrusive operation of business.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling
  • Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
  • Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
  • Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
  • Do regular data backups to protect the organization's information
  • Provide technical directions to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
  • Track incoming and outgoing inventory
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license Must have clean a background check and drug screening
  • Must have customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field
  • Must have knowledge and practical understanding of network concepts such as LAN, WAN, Layer 2/Layer 3 communication, VLANS, ARP, DHCP, DNS, route maps, etc. required to understand and troubleshoot networks.
  • Some understanding of Fiber and Copper cabling
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends Must be able to travel with overnight stays
  • Be available for overtime, emergency callouts and holiday work
  • Must work effectively with a team and independently
  • Must work in an organized manner with an ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess strong attention to detail Ability to work in small, confined spaces
  • CompTIA Network+ required
  • Experience working with Fortinet, Ruckus and Avaya/Ubiquity systems is a plus
