The Network Manager will lead a team of 8 direct reports to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network and voice infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in core networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, Juniper Mist wired and wireless network management, VPN, Cisco VoIP, and Palo Alto firewalls. The Network Manager will ensure network reliability, security, and performance while ensuring a collaborative team environment to support organizational objectives.

This position can be filled by someone who lives near Pittsburgh, PA, or Morgantown, WV.

Job-Specific Minimum Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and manage a team of 8 direct reports, including performance evaluations, career development, and workload prioritization.
  • Lead the team in responding to network outages, security incidents, and other critical issues.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions using core networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS).
  • Manage Juniper Mist for AI-driven wireless networking, ensuring seamless connectivity, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Experience using Infoblox for DNS, DHCP, IPAM
  • Administer and configure Palo Alto firewalls in accordance with provided security requirements, including policy management, threat prevention, content management, and access control.
  • Implement and maintain Cisco VoIP environment for reliable voice communication.
  • Assist with the management of on-site Radio frequencies for two-way radio communication.
  • Lead and recommend architecture design enhancements to automate and streamline network infrastructure while also reducing technical debt.
  • Evaluate and recommend strategies, operations for monitoring, maintaining, and evolving network and security infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network capabilities with broader needs.
  • Proactively perform maintenance, upgrades, thru approved change management process.
  • Monitor network performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with external/internal network audits and cyber security reviews.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Job-Specific Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering or administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Proven experience managing networks with Juniper Mist, Cisco VoIP, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Expertise in core networking concepts: routing, switching, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper Mist for network management and analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, including Panorama, URL filtering, and IPSec/SSL VPNs.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco VoIP environment (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Jabber, RedSky E-911).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, MRTG).
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of 8+ direct reports.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure during critical incidents.
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Overseeing multiple networks is several different locations
    • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and proactive decision-making
    • Occasional on-call availability for critical incidents
