The Multi Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is seeking a talented Network Systems Engineer to contribute to a dynamic program supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. This role involves managing a variety of workstations and network hardware across multiple customer sites and the cloud. We are looking for someone with expertise in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining network systems that fulfill Department of Defense (DoD) specifications. As a key member of our team, you'll implement secure network architectures, monitor operations, and assist in deploying network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Your contributions will ensure compliance with functionality and security standards, maintain accurate documentation, and provide essential technical support. As part of our 24x7 monitoring team at the Leidos operated Network Operations Center, you will be invaluable in delivering effective network solutions.

This position requires the ability to work a rotating shift

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive network designs and architectures that adhere to DoD standards.
  • Work with procurement teams to source necessary network hardware and software that align with project specifications.
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Conduct extensive testing of network systems to assure optimal functionality and compliance with security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the installation and testing processes.
  • Keep accurate records of network configurations and any alterations made.
  • Produce and update network diagrams and relevant technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to promote successful project outcomes.
  • Provide technical assistance and insights to team members and end-users.
  • Remain informed about DoD policies and best practices regarding network security and design.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard network infrastructure and critical data.
Basic Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen with a Top Secret Clearance and the capability to obtain an SCI prior to your start date.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles for OSI Layers 1-4.
  • Experience in the installation and configuration of physical networking hardware and Local Area Networks (LANs).
  • Expertise in designing and deploying Wide Area Networks (WANs) utilizing Virtual Private Networking (VPN) technologies.
  • Competence in analyzing and applying network management and troubleshooting tools, such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of federal acquisition regulations and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking principles and technologies, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with cryptographic devices for secure networking within a VPN environment.
  • Proficiency in configuring VPNs using technologies such as Cisco AnyConnect, Azure VPN Gateway, MPLS, IPsec VPN, or other site-to-site VPN solutions.
  • Knowledge of DoD networks, especially classified and operational networks.
  • Relevant certifications like CCNP, CCIE, or specialized credentials (e.g., JNCIA, PCNSA, AZ-700, CISSP, etc.).
  • Experience in network performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity measures and risk management, specifically at OSI layers 1-3.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a technical team.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in network infrastructure.
Pay Range: Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
