Network Systems Administrator

JOB GOAL: Working with the Technology Director will provide the daily management of the local and wide area networks focusing on security, performance, and reliability in accordance with the district acceptable use policy and industry best practices. The district is comprised of three schools, approximately 700 computers, and twelve servers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide daily management and configuration to ensure the operability and integrity of the district's network systems
o(CIPA(children's internet protection act) compliant device)
o Sophos End-Point Security (antivirus)
o Windows Update Server Service to insure that all security updates/patches are being applied
o Provide Management and Support of all Routers, Switches, Hubs and Wireless Access points
o Manage district wide DNS and IP addresses as it relates to Intranet/Internet access
o Network Clients: Windows XP/7/10, chromebooks, ipads

• Maintain current network diagrams and IP list of all network equipment including servers, PC's, laptops, wireless, and handheld devices.

• Recommend PC/laptop/printer hardware and software in accordance with District goals as defined by the Education Technology Director and/or Superintendent.

• Maintain an inventory of network equipment and related hardware

• Assist with the management of the district server environment.

• Assist with the management of software licenses to ensure that the district is in compliance.

• Provide support for telecommunications hardware and software.

• Work with the Technology Director on maintaining and improving the school's intranet and web site.

• Work with the Technology Director to generate and manage the technology department budget.

• Work with the Technology Director to advance the Strategic Technology Plan.

• As part of a team, provide desktop support to staff and students.

• Perform all duties in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

• Other duties as assigned.
