Job Summary: The Network Engineer will provide IT customers with technical support with a variety of IT components.
Duties/Responsibilities: - Outage network down support and troubleshooting.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN controllers, DNS and DHCP
- Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
- Customer technical support escalations as needed.
- Research and Development - Participate in ongoing efforts to improve our network designs.
- Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems, outages, and scheduling upgrades.
- Collaborates with network architects on network optimization.
- Participate in the Engineering On-Call rotation.
- Voice communications support.
- Network documentation.
- Network installations and configurations (travel may be required)
- Site Surveys / Site Repair Visits (travel may be required).
Required Skills/Abilities: - Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with all team members in the organization, customers, and vendors.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability are critical in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and VLANs.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree and/or technical networking certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years networking experience.
Physical Requirements: - Computer work
- Communications rack - equipment installation
- Ability to conduct site visits in the field.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
