Description Join Leidos Airborne Systems Operations in an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in supporting critical DoD missions. We are seeking multiple Network Solutions Engineers to innovate and propel advancements for our programs at the Wright Patterson AFB in Beavercreek, OH and Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts.
Your role will involve collaborating closely with the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and various other initiatives. You will engage in software design and development, hardware integration, hands-on laboratory experiments, and rigorous ground and flight testing to deliver state-of-the-art IT solutions.
Primary Responsibilities: - Lead discussions with customers and vendors regarding hardware and software challenges.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and tracking of hardware and software across programs.
- Design robust program environments, secure enclaves, and reliable networks.
- Engineer, monitor, and troubleshoot internal and external networks, including encryptors, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Oversee virtual environments management with tools like VMware.
- Manage and monitor storage appliances, providing troubleshooting support as needed.
- Implement and manage various Microsoft and Linux platforms, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct research and address issues related to active directory, group policy, routing, and DNS.
- Execute information assurance procedures and vulnerability assessments to safeguard systems.
- Initiate IAVA responses, manage system security scans, and extend patches efficiently.
- Review security logs and vulnerabilities, crafting proactive remediation strategies.
- Plan and oversee system installations and upgrades for networks and servers.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years in Networking, Communications, or Systems Engineering; or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven ability to diagnose issues and research effective solutions.
- Passionate about learning and mastering new technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of fundamental networking concepts: IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, VLANs, and Switch configuration.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Top Secret security clearance, with SCI eligibility required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications (Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, CompTIA).
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs and technology hardening practices.
- Experience working with encrypted networks and COMSEC.
- Proficient in using CISCO command line.
- Experience in Fiber networking and ruggedized systems.
- Knowledge of VPNs and enterprise network routing/edge connectivity.
- Experience with MLS Switches and managing NTP/PTP systems.
Location: Wright Patterson AFB in Beavercreek, OH and Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts.
Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
