Description Join the Airborne Systems Operations team within the Defense Sector at Leidos. We are actively seeking skilled Network Engineers who are passionate about supporting cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions for the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other vital DoD missions. This is an exciting chance to contribute to a diverse portfolio of programs involving software design, hardware integration, laboratory experimentation, and testing of advanced systems.
Primary Responsibilities: - Communicate effectively with customers and end users about hardware and software challenges, including leading meetings with customers and vendors.
- Track and document hardware and software across various locations and programs.
- Design and engineer network environments and enclaves for diverse program requirements.
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot internal and external networks, including encryptors, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Engineer and manage virtual environments, including VMware.
- Oversee storage appliances and troubleshoot any issues in collaboration with vendor support.
- Research, implement, monitor, manage, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft and Linux products.
- Implement and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, Routing, and DNS.
- Execute the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning per System Security Plans.
- Initiate IAVA responses, perform system security scans, and manage remediation efforts, extending patches and security updates as necessary.
- Analyze logs and vulnerabilities to identify and engineer solutions for potential issues.
- Plan and manage system installations and upgrades for networks and servers.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years in Networking, Communications, or Systems Engineering; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues through research and analysis.
- Strong enthusiasm for exploring and learning new technologies.
- Solid foundational knowledge of networking principles including IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, VLANs, and switch configuration.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- A Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications such as Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, or CompTIA.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs and implementation of technology hardening practices.
- Previous experience with encryption networks.
- Experience with COMSEC.
- Proficiency with CISCO command line.
- Experience in fiber networking.
- Experience working with ruggedized systems.
- Expertise in VPN and enterprise network routing/edge connection.
- Knowledge of MLS switches.
- Experience working with NTP/PTP.
Work Locations: This position will be based at Wright Patterson AFB in Beavercreek, OH or Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts.
Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
