Description The National Security Sector of Leidos is seeking a skilled and fully cleared Network Engineer to join our innovative team. We are based in Chantilly, VA and looking for an individual who is motivated and has proven experience in networking.
This position involves addressing complex networking challenges and developing leading-edge solutions. An ideal candidate will excel in problem-solving and thrive in collaborative settings. OCONUS experience is highly desirable, and the role requires 50% travel to international locations.
Our teams operate across various time zones, making excellent communication skills essential. Flexibility and the ability to work efficiently within cross-functional teams are highly valued.
Primary Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor and analyze the entire network infrastructure (LAN & WAN) and provide detailed reports.
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to ensure optimal network performance and timely task completion.
- Maintain high levels of network uptime, performance, and security.
- Document and enforce network standards to ensure compliance.
- Manage and maintain the IP addressing schema.
- Travel internationally as required.
- Support the maintenance of our network lab located in Chantilly, VA.
REQUIRED Skills, Experience, and Education: Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may reduce the experience requirement.
- Must hold an active TS/SCI with Poly to be considered.
- Current CCNA certification is mandatory.
- Proficient understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and diagnostics tools.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking devices.
- Knowledge of routing and switching configurations, including common routing protocols.
- Ability to write scripts for network appliances, specifically Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong individual and team working abilities while maintaining professional conduct with all stakeholders.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and climb 30 ft when necessary.
Desired Qualifications: - Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP in Security are preferred.
- Experience with Cisco ASA/Firepower and Juniper SRX appliances is a plus.
- Know-how in implementing and troubleshooting IPSec VPN tunnels.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols such as IPSEC, EIGRP, OSPF, and QoS.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting iDirect VSAT systems.
- Familiarity with Solarwinds Performance Monitor and Configuration Manager is advantageous.
- Experience with AWS implementation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of VoIP systems and PBX configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Asterisk setup and troubleshooting is a bonus.
The position is located in Chantilly, VA. Expected pay range for this role is $72,150.00 - $130,425.00. The offer will be based on factors including experience, skills, and market alignment.
