JOB DESCRIPTION: The QA Tester will install routers and modems to initiate test execution focused on the customer end-to-end user experience approximately 2/3 of their day, under the direction of the client lead. The candidate will spend approximately 1/3 of their day helping to troubleshoot and help drive root cause analysis providing a read out to both technical and business stakeholders for defects they have found and logged in the defect management system. Further, the candidate will have a limited amount of time to learn the product, business processes, and technology architecture, from the legacy Excelacom delivery team due to the need to be out in the test markets. The candidate may also meet with other Excelacom employees to productize this service and repackage the offering for other Excelacom clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Learn both client business processes, technology systems, and all related documentation etc. including requirements analysis for delivery project
- Apply functional and technical system design to test planning, test case writing, and defect management
- Ability to explain technical behaviors seen throughout the solution as related to defects to both technical and non-technical audience
- Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Has shown the ability to be the most knowledgeable person on a system and process, with the ability to apply servant leadership with that knowledge
- Has exhibited eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment and being part of a great team
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Wireless Engineering Engineering Computer Science Information Technology OR equivalent
- 1 year of manual testing experience with good understanding of Software Test Lifecycle
- Experience in testing Core Network or WiFi systems
- Knowledgeable in networking concepts
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Experience writing SQL queries and understanding of data analysis basics
- 1 year of experience using service layer testing tools: SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman.
- Basic understanding of Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Home concept and products
- Ability to travel up to 25%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Preferred 1 year of experience in Consulting (US-based or foreign)
- Working knowledge of Splunk or any log analysis tools
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: For individuals assigned to work in Colorado, Excelacom is required to include a reasonable estimated compensation range for this role. However, final salaries will vary based on several factors, such as candidate's level, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. An individual may be hired at the Analyst, Consultant, or Manager level for this role with each level requiring an increasing set of responsibilities. For regular full-time employees, the estimated salary range is from $50,000 to $65,000/yr.
