Program Overview About The Role Peraton is seeking a Network Operations Tier II Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. In this role you will support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP). CBP Network Management Support Services provide CBP Network(s) support and is responsible for Network(s) Management, Operations, and Maintenance for all CBP Network(s) infrastructure. Support includes providing real-time incident monitoring, predictive and proactive analysis and reporting, incident resolution and escalation, problem management and resolution, coordinating of events related to network communications, network utilization and availability analysis and reporting. CBP Network Management also provides Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Enterprise Data Management and Engineering (EDME) LAN, and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). CBP Network Management is the focal point for network troubleshooting, updating, router and domain name management, and coordination with affiliated networks. The CBP Network Management Center is staffed 24x7x365 with three (3) shifts of mid to senior level technicians. The Primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and manage staff and l 2nd Shift (6pm - 6am) operations to ensure the stability of the Customs and Border Protection infrastructure and connectivity to supported sites. The Shift lead will be responsible for 2nd shift operation seven days a week. Personnel work from CBP facilities in Springfield, VA and Orlando, FL. The Springfield site will eventually be relocating to Ashburn, VA. Work hours will total 40 per week as determined by the leader; however, the core working hours for this position are approximately 12 pm - 6 pm. Day to Day Work Responsibilities: Responsible for keeping track of the day-to-day 2nd shift operations of CBP networks, ensuring they remain secure and run efficiently. Will direct the work activities of all personnel assigned to this shift (i.e., Tier 1, Tier 2, DNS, Firewall, Tools Team, Wireless Team).
Will serve as the Operations Lead from approximately 12 pm - 6 pm.
Will serve as the ServiceNow ticket queue manager for Tier 2.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure the NOC provides exceptional service to our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customer as it operates 24/7/365. Responsibilities include managing the shift schedule to ensure the NOC shifts are adequately staffed to meet contract requirements and managing (resolving or escalating) incidents and/or issues.
Manage 2nd Shift NOC Tier 1 & 2 Analysts, who are responsible for monitoring network services and responding to events and alarms, supporting the incident management process, including defining the impact, properly escalating, and resolving incidents.
Manage 2nd Shift NOC Tier 1 & 2 Analysts to make sure NOC provides support for service and change requests in a highly critical and dynamic WAN/LAN/MAN environment.
Ensure 2nd Shift Tier 2 Analysts plan and execute security remediations and perform OS upgrades on network devices.
Ensure 2nd shift NOC Team works collaboratively to operate and maintain the Network, meeting performance and stability requirements (Service Level Agreement) to support customer business needs.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Must have 6+ years of work experience
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a CBP Public Trust
4+ years of experience in a NOC environment providing Tier II support
Working knowledge of OSI Model Layers 1-3
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network technologies
Familiarity with network security devices, IPsec VPNs, routing, switching, VRF, VLANs, bandwidth utilization, and load balancers
Experience using Wireshark, Syslog, Netscout, and SteelCentral to monitor, capture, mine, and interpret data
Proven experience troubleshooting, upgrading, and implementing Cisco switches and routers
Experience troubleshooting, upgrading, and implementing Cisco ASA Firewalls
Experience troubleshooting, upgrading, and implementing F5 Load Balancers
Experience writing firewall rules, NAT configurations, and IPsec communications
Ability to manage, audit, and deploy network device configurations via HPNA
Experience using trouble-ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy
Knowledge of Incident, Change, Problem, and Request management practicesPreferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of related experience

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
