Job Description: MONITORS, MAINTAINS AND TROUBLESHOOTS DATA OR VOICE NETWORKS; RESPONDS TO ALARMS OR PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED BY TOOLS. IMPLEMENTS PRE-DEFINED TROUBLE-SHOOTING PROCEDURES AND SCRIPTS AND ESCALATES AS APPROPRIATE. MAY ASSUME VENDOR INTERFACE DUTIES. MONITORS AND CONTROLS THE PERFORMANCE AND STATUS OF THE NETWORK RESOURCES. UTILIZES SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE TOOLS AND IDENTIFIES AND DIAGNOSES COMPLEX PROBLEMS AND FACTORS AFFECTING NETWORK PERFORMANCE. PROVIDES GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION FOR LESS-EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS. UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MOST COMPLEX TESTING AND ANALYSIS OF ALL ELEMENTS OF THE NETWORK AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES (INCLUDING POWER, COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES, LINES, MODEMS, AND TERMINALS). ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE IN APPLICABLE TECHNICAL FIELD.
