Summary We are seeking a hands-on Network Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Cisco networking to help lead and maintain our enterprise network environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in routing, switching, and structured cabling or fiber, along with a passion for delivering reliable and secure connectivity across the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Execute and maintain the daily operations of enterprise networking systems, including switch, router, firewall, wireless, and cabling infrastructure.
- Ensure critical network services such as monitoring, patching, upgrades, and alerting are effectively managed to minimize downtime and business risk.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Layer 1-3 network issues and performance bottlenecks; lead triage efforts to determine root cause and implement long-term solutions.
- Support and implement enterprise LAN/WAN architecture, including routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), VLANs, STP, and QoS strategies.
- Participate in network upgrade and expansion projects, working with internal teams and external vendors to deliver secure and scalable network solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into network design and operational strategies.
- Manage third-party partners for structured cabling, fiber installations, and network-related services.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for network processes and operational efficiency.
- Support AV and broadcast systems as they relate to IP networking (e.g., multicast configuration, VLAN segmentation, and QoS for real-time media).
Education and/or Experience: Required - 5+ years of experience in enterprise network operations
- Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 technologies, IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and switching
- Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with Cisco network infrastructure
- Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, and patch panel management
- Familiarity with ITIL framework for incident, problem, and change management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred - CCNA or CCNP certification strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience supporting multicast IP technologies and/or IEEE 1588 PTP synchronization
- Exposure to AV-over-IP systems or broadcast IP networking
- Experience with network monitoring and automation tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetBox, Ansible)
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking or SD-WAN environments
