Position Summary: Summit Interconnect seeks a Network Engineer to assess, manage and improve the network infrastructure and associated hardware & software to deliver best possible performance across the organization. Candidate will be responsible for triaging and troubleshooting issues across eleven locations and remote staff. Issues may range from network outages to application slowness, connectivity problems, VCenter issues, firmware/security patching, etc. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of fundamental networking technologies, cloud environments, network security, software-defined networking.

Qualifications: Candidate must have 10 - 15 years' experience supporting networks and environments (on-prem, Azure) preferably in the manufacturing industry and must be able to perform each listed responsibility satisfactory. Experience with Fortinet, Aerohive, VCenter, Azure GCC High desired. The criteria listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, optimize and troubleshoot: Firewalls, network switches, routers, SDN, wireless LAN controllers, and wireless access points in existing infrastructure
  • Manage, optimize and troubleshoot: SDWAN, VPN & site to site WAN connectivity
  • Own & manage all aspects of networking including relationship w/ incumbent network MSP
  • Own & manage network and systems monitoring, performance & reporting using PRTG
  • Monitor network performance and integrity, addressing network and cloud capacity issues. Identify, develop, and deploy tools supporting infrastructure services
  • Secure network system by enforcing policies and monitoring access
  • Maintain patching and upgrades across network and infrastructure
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network fabric and datacenter failover
  • System Administration: Build, configure & manage systems as required for support of network operations
  • Help to define, develop, document, and deploy scalable reliable and secure cloud, and local based infrastructure across multiple sites
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technology solutions
  • Manage, configure, and maintain Azure, M365, and IAM capabilities
  • Train, guide, and advise other staff on the appropriate course of action during the identification and troubleshooting of complex LAN/WAN technical issues to minimize network down-time
  • Perform user administration tasks in Active Directory, Exchange, Duo, and related systems
  • Create documentation and KB articles for team members to aid in cross training and consistency in work efforts. Keep documentation up to date
  • Inform management and work with team members to find solutions for recurring problems
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Experience:
  • Strong hands-on technical background with at least 10 years in a 24/7/365 operational role supporting data center networks
  • Fortinet security fabric experience (FortiClient, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, FortiGate)
  • 10+ years' experience managing firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-Fi AP's
  • 7+ years' experience managing hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure)
  • Demonstrated background in Windows systems administration
  • Mastery of LAN/WAN concepts, including TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, LDAP, firewalls
  • 10+ years' experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere ESXi 6.5 and above
  • 7+ years' experience with Active Directory, VMware, MDM solutions
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team or independently
  • Experience with virtual network and security constructs of Azure
Education / Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Public cloud certifications a plus - Advanced Networking, Cloud Network Engineer, or equivalent
