Hiring Range: $69,600 - $82,440 Annually
Do you believe that you can make the lives of people better with technology? The State of North Dakota is looking for a Network and Facility Administrator to support, design and test infrastructure within the Intelligent Transportation System and state's datacenters.
North Dakota Information Technology manages a 24/7 data center with multiple physical locations that provide the system hosting services, storage hosting services, desktop support and database management services to a variety of customers including all levels of state government. This role will work on site at these locations in the Bismarck-Mandan area. This role will also provide support to the Intelligent Transportation System.
The Network and Facility Administrator will:
•Work with Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) personnel to administer and maintain ITS infrastructures across the entire enterprise, with a focus on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation.
•Be responsible for the administration of data center equipment and all related infrastructure
•Follow architectural designs and assist in developing plans for successful implementation
•Assist troubleshooting and gathering information while analyzing configuration and performance problems across the state's network, and over carrier networks.
•Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records of all equipment.
•Communicate highly technical information using tact and diplomacy for the benefit of customers, colleagues, and vendors, while providing excellent customer service
The successful Network and Facility Administrator candidate will enjoy working with a team in a collaborative environment and learn quickly in a rapidly changing technology landscape. They will be able to research the capabilities of enterprise wireless technologies and participate in the development of technical articles and other documents to assist co-workers in understanding the technologies. The successful candidate can design and engineer complex network solutions involving multiple stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role you will need:
Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or a closely related field and one year of current and progressive experience in computer operations support, including infrastructure maintenance and system implementations
Additional professional work experience as described above can be substituted for formal education on a year for year basis
