Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and skilled
Network Engineer L2 to provide advanced network support and administration. This role involves resolving escalated network issues, managing critical infrastructure components, and working closely with engineering and security teams to ensure reliable, high-performance, and secure networking across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: - Resolve escalated network incidents from L1 support and assist with root cause analysis.
- Configure, manage and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network health and performance using advanced tools and provide tuning recommendations.
- Manage network changes including provisioning, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes.
- Assist in network design and capacity planning to support new initiatives.
- Support disaster recovery, failover testing, and high-availability setups.
- Collaborate with SOC/NOC teams to triage and respond to security incidents or service outages.
- Implement network automation and scripting solutions to improve efficiency (where applicable).
- Mentor L1 engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 3-5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), NAT, and QoS.
- Experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto), VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise equipment.
- Familiarity with SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, and performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
- Experience managing change control, documentation, and ticketing systems.
Preferred Qualifications: - Cisco CCNA (required); CCNP or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Exposure to SD-WAN and modern network architectures.
Work Environment: - Team-oriented, project-based IT environment.
- This may include occasional travel to data centers or branch locations.
- Participation in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance windows may be required.
