Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Network Engineer L1 to join our IT team. As a Level 1 Network Engineer, you will provide first-line support for network operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will assist in maintaining reliable and secure network infrastructure, escalating complex issues to L2/L3 engineers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar platforms.
  • Respond to alerts and basic support tickets related to connectivity, hardware, or configuration.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting (e.g., ping, traceroute, checking switch port status).
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
  • Support end users with network access issues including VPN and Wi-Fi.
  • Document network incidents, resolutions, and configurations.
  • Assist with physical setup (cabling, rack mounting, labeling) in data centers or offices.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and security best practices.
  • Work closely with L2/L3 engineers to escalate and resolve complex issues.
Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience in IT support or networking (internships included).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI Model, IP addressing, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Ubiquiti, etc.).
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote diagnostic tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment if needed (shifts/on-call).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CompTIA Network+ or CCNA (or actively pursuing).
  • Hands-on experience with command line tools and basic switch/router configuration.
  • Exposure to network monitoring or logging tools.
Work Environment:
  • Support-driven, fast-paced technical environment.
  • May involve physical tasks in server/network rooms.
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required for maintenance or support coverage.
