Requirements:
- 5-8 years of experience in Network Engineering.
- Proficiency with Palo Alto technologies, including Panorama Administration, Firewall Administration, and Prisma SD-WAN.
- Expertise in configuring, securing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience in server management, including monitoring, securing access, patching, and bringing servers online.
- Hands-on experience with administration tools such as SolarWinds and ICINGA, including installing toolsets and managing permissions for newly built VMs and existing VMware servers.
- Understanding and experience with voice over IP (VoIP) technology and wireless networking technology and protocols including 802.11(x).
- Background in network monitoring tools and services in a 24x7, high availability (99.99% uptime) environment.
- Familiarity and experience with Cisco routers (IOS 12.x) including RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, NAT/PAT
- Knowledge and experience with Cisco wireless networking technology including access points, wireless controllers, and client software.
- Knowledge and experience with voice over IP (VOIP) telephony.
- Knowledge of networking systems, architectures, and protocols including TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of WAN technologies and concepts including ATM, T1, T3, optical carrier, Sonnet.
Familiarity and experience with Ethernet topologies including 10/100/1000BaseT/Tx/Fx/FDDI.
- Familiarity and experience with security and firewall technology and products including intrusion detection, access lists, and Cisco PIX.
- Directly involved with the implementation, operation, administration, and maintenance of Cisco networking equipment, switches, routers and firewalls in a 24x7, high availability (99.99% uptime) environment.
- Knowledge of network management systems, tools, and concepts including SNMP, RMON, and CiscoWorks.
- Strong understanding and experience with networking protocols (EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF), switching technologies (VLANs, 802.1d trunking, and spanning tree protocol), firewall configuration, and proxy services.
- Familiarity and experience with Cisco intelligent switches including VLAN administration
Day to Day:
- Provide network support to the IT Infrastructure division and hospital network users.
- Install and configure network hardware and software.
- Configure and manage firewalls.
- Monitor and manage server devices.
- Configure network settings for servers and clients.
- Administer network security and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot network issues and report resolutions to IT management.
- Configure firewalls and other network security devices.
