Job Description

We are recruiting for a Network Engineer to join a well-established nonprofit organization in the Roseville area. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure. Pay: $48-$60/hour DOE.

The qualified candidate will have four years of experience in systems networking and strong expertise in operating systems and server administration within a Windows environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and implement complex systems and infrastructure.
  • Create detailed system architecture and specifications.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and meet performance requirements.
  • Continuously optimize and automate to improve system performance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance for system currency and security.
  • Provide technical support to IT team members.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of system failures, document findings, and implement corrective measures in collaboration with the Director of IT.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Research and implement security best practices to safeguard against emerging threats.
  • Implement and manage industry-standard security protocols for data protection.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with the Director of IT to prioritize tasks and maintain system visibility.
  • Work with IT professionals, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure system integration and compatibility.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or related.
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Networking or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience administering a Windows environment.
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator or Developer certification preferred.
  • Additional relevant certifications, particularly in security a plus.
  • Experience with virtualization, remote access tools, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including security group management.
  • Proficiency in administering Microsoft Exchange.
  • Understanding of networking, storage, and security best practices.
  • Ability to manage network and storage capacities, analyze data trends, and implement proactive solutions to prevent business disruptions.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Experience with backup and patching strategies.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Experience managing a server room, including power, cabling, temperature control, and maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
