The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network and system infrastructure. This role ensures seamless connectivity, high performance, and security across all networked systems to support business operations. The Network Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, troubleshoots complex technical issues, and drives continuous improvement in IT systems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily maintenance and problem resolution for network and system environments.
Apply operating system patches, perform software upgrades, and execute routine hardware configuration tasks.
Manage and maintain the VMware infrastructure, including virtual servers and storage.
Oversee extensive Managed File Transfer (MFT) environments and Windows and IBM i (AS/400) systems.
Configure, test, and maintain servers and related services to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve network and system problems efficiently.
Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for all company environments and processes.
Manage and support the company's site-to-site VPN environment, ensuring security and uptime.
Administer network and application monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Interface with software and hardware vendors for procurement, support, and issue resolution.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams on network and system-related tools and processes.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and associated protocols.
Proficiency with TCP/IP-based services such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, and SNMP.
Experience with network monitoring and security tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
Strong troubleshooting abilities to distinguish between hardware, software, firmware, OS, and application issues.
