Network Administrator

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, organize, install, and support network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, WLANs, internet/intranet systems, and network segments.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain network servers, including firewalls, VPN gateways, and related components.
  • Provide ongoing support for SD-WAN environments and manage relationships with external communications partners.
  • Administer Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, Remote Desktop Services, Group Policy, file/print, and application servers.
  • Support cloud-based services such as Office 365 and identity management platforms like Okta.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing production systems in collaboration with IT teams and business units; recommend and prioritize system enhancements based on resources and business value.
  • Estimate resources, develop project plans, and coordinate implementation efforts for IT initiatives.
  • Work with a managed security partner to maintain network and server security and resolve incidents.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR high school diploma with 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in network administration or systems infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based, with occasional work in warehouse or off-site environments.
  • Travel required within Metro Detroit (1-2 times per week) and occasionally statewide (approx. 4 times per year).
  • May require irregular hours or on-call availability.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift equipment (e.g., PCs, printers) up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces (e.g., behind desks, above ceilings).
  • Extensive keyboard use required.

  • Must have reliable transportation for travel requirements.
