Candidate MUST take this job seriously. Customer is looking for a dedicated engineer who takes responsibility and shows ownership. Requires once a week onsite in Washington, DC.
Job Responsibilities: Network Design and implementation
Prepare order instructions for WAN circuits, equipment and services as defined by the customer
Must be strong with BGP
• Configure WAN/LAN (hardware, software) including voice video and security
• Document network diagrams, router configuration files and IP addressing schemes
• Develop and document network provisioning requirements and policies
• Provide capacity planning assistance to develop network resource requirements projections
• Support core Internet protocols (EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS, etc.)
• Experience with Cisco Nexus Routing and ASR is a plus
• Install and configure Cisco 3800/3900 and 4300/4800 series routers
• Support complex data center technologies including Nexus 2k/5k, 6500, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, F5 and WAF
• Understand routing in multi service environment
• Support QOS, multicast, and content delivery
Network Monitoring
• Develop and document requirements and policies for network monitoring and problem management
• Update tickets as required
• Provide support as Tier 3 escalation
• Identify network problems and resolve in accordance incident and problem management services, polices, procedures and SLRs
• Coordinate resolution of circuit problems with third parties, including public carriers, ISP and city/county affiliates
Job Qualifications:
• Four year degree in IT or CS discipline preferred
• Experience with Cisco data center with voice and video
• Strong experience in Cisco Routing and Switching including knowledge of Multicast, QoS, IOS Security, and content delivery
• VPN and Wireless LAN experience a plus
