Description The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a
Network Engineer (Campus Area Network/Local Area Network (CAN/LAN to play a crucial role in modernizing and managing our government client's global enterprise networks. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of a global network while delivering cutting-edge solutions that meet critical mission requirements.
As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for:
- Interpreting customer needs and applying industry-standard design methodologies for service delivery. You'll fully document designs with detailed diagrams, bills of materials, cabling layouts, configurations, and other supporting documents.
- Utilizing our private test lab to evaluate new technologies, implement changes to production networks, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios to enhance network performance.
- Scheduling maintenance windows effectively to transition user connections from legacy systems to modern infrastructure with minimal disruption to critical data flows.
- Providing expert technical support to operations engineers and technicians, focusing on fault isolation and resolution, while developing innovative and scalable solutions for complex challenges.
- Designing secure network configurations in alignment with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices and software.
- Supervising network support specialists to coordinate and plan the implementation of network services.
- Enhancing design processes and products for our team, promoting efficient and effective workflows.
- Gaining experience with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Networks (WANs), although the primary focus will be on CAN/LAN.
Basic Requirements - Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field, which can include a combination of work history and education (e.g., Doctorate + 3 years, Master's + 4 years, Bachelor's + 6 years).
- Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 (Security+ CE).
- Experience in network engineering, specifically with Tier III or higher network operations and/or design and implementation.
- Prior responsibility for configuring production network hardware for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper.
- Hands-on experience with implementing and troubleshooting routing protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
- Experience with standard switching and trunking protocols in a production environment, such as VLANs, 802.1q, and port-channels.
Desired Qualifications: - Network engineering experience specifically related to CAN/LAN, including applying industry standards and integrating solutions into live environments.
- Experience with MPLS WANs, network management tools, and firewall configurations.
- Expert proficiency in routing and switching protocols, with additional emphasis on BGP.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent expertise.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative and discipline in establishing effective processes and documentation.

Pay Range: The pay range for this job is $72,150.00 - $130,425.00. This figure is a general guideline and not a compensation guarantee. Various factors, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market alignment, and applicable laws will influence the final offer.
