In this role, you'll support our government customer's global enterprise networks by modernizing network components to meet mission-focused operational requirements. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in replacing a global enterprise network while designing and engineering solutions that meet a wide range of customer needs.

- Utilizing our private test lab to evaluate new technologies, test proposed changes to production networks, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios to enhance the production enterprise network.
- Coordinating maintenance windows to migrate user connections from legacy systems to a modern infrastructure with minimal impact on critical data flows.
- Providing technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians, assisting with fault isolation and resolution. You will develop innovative and scalable solutions to complex problems.
- Creating secure network designs that conform to Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and enterprise policies, including obtaining Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices and capabilities.
- Supervising (not managing) other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network services effectively.
- Enhancing design products, processes, and systems to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Even though this position focuses on CAN/LAN, you will have opportunities to learn and engage with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Networks (WANs).

- Network engineering experience, specifically in Tier III or higher network operations and/or design and implementation.
- Experience with production network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper.
- Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting standard routing protocols (e.g., Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) or Border Gateway Protocol (BGP in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with standard switching and trunking protocols, such as Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), 802.1q, and port-channels.
Desired Qualifications: - Specific experience in network engineering and design for CAN/LAN with a strong understanding of industry standards, configuration development, and production integration.
- Experience with MPLS WANs, network management tools, and firewalls.
- Expertise in routing and switching protocols, particularly with extensive BGP experience.
