Responsibilities A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable agencies to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the Federal Government needs. As a network engineer on our team, you'll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation's defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You'll upgrade or develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You'll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the Federal Government evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Crytographic equipment, cryptography, key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding, SolarWinds, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Qualifications You have: 10+ years of experience in Network Engineering Experience providing configuration and maintance services on the network Administration team including technical services Expeirence monitoring and maintaining the current infrastructure through network performance monitoring tools Experience integrating hardware and software within DoD regulations Ability to improve system performance and automating system adminisatration Ability to implement solutions to support server requirements such as load balancing, VPNs, Traffic Shaping VOIP, GRE tunneling, IPSec, MoIP, and NAT Ability to manage assigned tasks and provide guidance to junior Network Engineers TS/SCI with a polygraph Bachelors degree Nice if you have: Master's degree Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,143.26 /year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,143.26 /year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of full paid medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
