Overview
Responsible for administering AmTrust's global firewall and network infrastructure in order to meet business objectives. This position will have a primary role in supporting the enterprise firewall infrastructure and intrusion detection system by implementing security controls which safeguard enterprise applications and data.
Responsibilities
Knowledgeable on network topologies and routing protocols
Administers and supports overall firewall architecture for the enterprise
Creates diagrams, high level and low level, of firewalls in the data center and DMZ
Implements various security protections and best practices with network security tools to protect the corporation
Identifies possible risk points and recommends solutions for the firewall infrastructure
Performs analysis and auditing for requests that are submitted in order to allow/deny access requests while adhering to corporate security standards
Performs URL Filtering, Network IPS/IDS Signature tuning while maintaining platform-specific security baselines
When necessary, works with Security team to respond to information system security incidents, including investigation of, countermeasures to, and recovery from computer-based attacks, unauthorized access, and policy breaches
Keeps current on network security risks and trends
Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as needed basis
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with all team members
Maintain and update relevant system and process documentation and develop ad-hoc reports as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Knowledge and experience with firewall administration, IPS, IDS, URL Filtering, network security, remote access, site-to-site VPN, IPSEC & SSL VPN, remote authentication software, external DNS and internet proxy
At Least 3 years of experience with network firewall software
Experience with Palo Alto and F5 suite of products is preferred
Experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols
Knowledge of electronic data transmission principles, LAN networks, routing fundamentals, business applications, DMZ design and troubleshooting techniques is essential
Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data and make an informed, calculated risk decisions
