Network Engineer Job Description HYBRID Exempt/Full Time Opportunity LogicomUSA is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to help design, implement and maintain FTTx networks for our partners in the rural Internet Service Provider space. Working in a hybrid office/remote environment with travel as needed, you will be part of our Network Engineering team enabling all aspects of the FTTx networks they support, including maintenance, and identification/correction of complex issues. Job Responsibilities: - Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Madison, MS office. Some travel is required as needed.
- Help design, install, and commission FTTx networks that are scalable, resilient, and efficient.
- Install, configure, and maintain carrier grade network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, access equipment) from Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Nokia, ADTRAN, Calix and other equipment manufacturers.
- Install, configure, and maintain VMware environments and associated virtualized servers (Linux and Windows based).
- Perform network maintenance and upgrades including firmware upgrades, patches, and security configurations.
- Serve as Tier 3 support for technical questions and troubleshooting of technical issues.
- Work with our partners and their vendors for quick problem resolution.
- Monitor performance and ensure the overall FTTx network reliability, availability, and capacity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work on other ongoing and short-term projects as outlined by management.

- Solid understanding of networking and how networks function in relation to the OSI model.
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience with technologies such as Ethernet, GPON, XGS-PON, VLANs, LAG (Link Aggregation Groups), and VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding).
- JUNOS, IOS, or other relevant networking OS knowledge preferred.
- Experience with network monitoring tools, network troubleshooting, and network analytics tools.
- A valid U.S. driver's license in good standing is required with the ability to drive.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and proficient in English.
- Understanding of company products, services, and policies.
- Access to a fast-reliable internet connection; a quiet workplace free of background noise and distractions.
Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or a four-year college degree in a related field preferred.
- Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college and four years of relevant work experience is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of experience working as a network engineer preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications in data networking (e.g., JNCIS, CCNP) preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications for Linux (e.g., Linux+, LFCS, RHCSA) preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: - Must be able to sit for long periods and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen.
- Regularly requires manual dexterity, visual activity, verbal communication, and auditory skills.
- Some after-hours work should be expected (e.g. maintenance windows).
